Things to See & Do
in Westward Ho!

Westward Ho! Beach

Made up of 2 miles of sandy beach and 850m wide at low tide, so it never feels overcrowded, backed by a pebble ridge that joins with the UNESCO Northam Burrows Nature Reserve.

RNLI Lifeguard services are on hand daily from May to September making the beach just as popular with families as it is with Surfers, Kite Surfers and Windsurfers. Rockpools appear on the westerly edge at low tide - buckets, spades and fishing nets can be bought from the local shops for hours of adventure.

Year on year it receives the Blue Flag Award stating the beach is safe to play and swim / surf in the sea.

Dogs are permitted on half the beach all year round (the Northam Burrows Sand Dunes end) and permitted on the whole beach from October to May.
